Board of county canvassers; members, eligibility, oath of office, holding other office prohibited

Sec. 24b. (1) Each member of a board of county canvassers must be a qualified elector of the county and must take and subscribe to the constitutional oath of office prescribed in section 1 of article XI of the state constitution of 1963. (2) An individual is not eligible to be a member of a board of county canvassers if that individual has been convicted of an election-related offense. (3) An individual holding an elective public office is not eligible for membership on the board of county canvassers. If any member of the board of county canvassers, during the member's term of office, becomes a candidate for any elective public office, that member's office is vacant.
