Sec. 2. As used in this act: (a) "Secretary" means the secretary of state acting as director of the fund. (b) "Treasurer" means the state treasurer acting as the custodian of the fund. (c) "Fund" means the motor vehicle accident claims fund. (d) "Uninsured motor vehicle" means a motor vehicle as to which there is not in force a liability policy that meets the requirements of section 3009 of the insurance code of 1956, 1956 PA 218, MCL 500.3009, and that is not owned by a holder of self-insurance as provided in section 3101d of the insurance code of 1956, 1956 PA 218, MCL 500.3101d. (e) "Person" includes natural persons, firms, copartnerships, associations, and corporations, except this state or an agency or political subdivision of this state. Person does not include a municipal corporation or a corporation owned or operated by this state or a political subdivision of this state.
