Commission; meetings; procedures and requirements; conducting business at public meeting; notice; voting

Sec. 6. (1) The commission shall meet not less than 4 times in each year and shall hold special meetings when called by the chairperson or, in the absence of the chairperson, by the vice-chairperson. A special meeting of the commission shall be called by the chairperson upon the written request of 5 members of the commission. (2) The commission shall establish its own procedures and requirements with respect to quorum, place and conduct of its meetings, and other matters. (3) The commission may establish other procedures and requirements governing its operations to carry out the intent of this act. (4) The commission's business shall be conducted in compliance with the open meetings act, 1976 PA 267, MCL 15.261 to 15.275. Public notice of the time, date, and place of the meeting shall be given in the manner required by the open meetings act, 1976 PA 267, MCL 15.261 to 15.275. The commission may take action at a meeting upon a vote of the majority of its members who are present at the meeting.
