Mich. Comp. Laws § 28.782

Sec. 2. As used in this act: (a) "Commission" means the Michigan law enforcement officers memorial monument fund commission created in section 4. (b) "Law enforcement officer" means that term as defined in section 2 of the commission on law enforcement standards act, 1965 PA 203, MCL 28.602. (c) "Monument fund" means the Michigan police officers memorial monument fund created in section 3. (d) "Survivor" means any of the following: (i) A spouse of a law enforcement officer killed on duty. (ii) A parent of a law enforcement officer killed on duty. (iii) A sibling of a law enforcement officer killed on duty. (iv) A child of a law enforcement officer killed on duty.
