Sec. 9. (1) If the department denies a registration or license application under this act, the department shall notify the applicant of the denial in writing by letter or electronic mail. (2) An applicant may appeal a denial of his or her registration or license application by submitting to the department a written request for a hearing. The applicant shall submit the request to the department not more than 15 days after the date of the denial. (3) The department shall conduct a hearing requested under this section in accordance with the administrative procedures act of 1969, 1969 PA 306, MCL 24.201 to 24.328.
