Mich. Comp. Laws § 29.1d

Sec. 1d. The state fire marshal shall do all of the following: (a) Oversee and direct fire service programs in this state that are vested in the bureau. (b) Perform the powers and duties of the state fire marshal under this act in a manner that maximizes the effective administration of the fire service of this state. (c) Serve as policy advisor to the governor on the development and administration of fire service policies, programs, and procedures. (d) Participate in the development, review, and implementation of the Michigan hazard mitigation plan. (e) Provide information for the development and regular updating of the Michigan hazard analysis, including the structural fires element, and the Michigan emergency management plan required under section 7a of the emergency management act, 1976 PA 390, MCL 30.407a.
