Mich. Comp. Laws § 3.421

Sec. 1. The state board of agriculture is hereby authorized and directed to convey to the United States government, from the land of the Michigan state board of agriculture upon which the state agricultural college is located, a tract of land not exceeding 1/2 acre in extent, the location and boundaries of which are to be determined by the said board, for the use of the said United States government in erecting a building thereon to be used and maintained for a weather station observatory.
