Powers of commission

Sec. 8. The commission may do 1 or more of the following: (a) Hold public meetings. (b) Contract for research and services. (c) Accept assistance from public agencies, colleges and universities, private foundations, individuals, partnerships, corporations, or associations. (d) Form committees or working groups as appropriate for the performance of the responsibilities of the commission. (e) Acquire, hold, and dispose of real property, easements, and rights-of-way as may be necessary for the construction, maintenance, and operation of the superconducting super collider, and for supporting land and facilities as may be required or useful for the construction, maintenance, and operation of the superconducting super collider. (f) Exercise the power of eminent domain under the uniform condemnation procedures act, Act No. 87 of the Public Acts of 1980, being sections 213.51 to 213.77 of the Michigan Compiled Laws, for purposes consistent with this act. (g) Lease, sell, donate, convey, or otherwise transfer property acquired under this act to the United States department of energy for use on the superconducting super collider project.
