Colleges or universities; growing of industrial hemp for research; requirements; "college or university" defined

Sec. 801. (1) A college or university that grows industrial hemp for the purpose of conducting research shall do all of the following: (a) Register as a grower under chapter II. (b) Collect samples of each lot of industrial hemp and complete a total delta-9-THC test as required under chapter IV. If the college or university adopts alternative methods for collecting a sample and completing a total delta-9-THC test, the college or university does not have to comply with the requirements of chapter IV. A total delta-9-THC test conducted under this subdivision must achieve a confidence level of 95% with respect to the acceptable THC level. (c) Dispose of noncompliant industrial hemp under section 407. (2) As used in this section, "college or university" means a college or university described in section 4, 5, or 6 of article VIII of the state constitution of 1963 or a junior college or community college described in section 7 of article VIII of the state constitution of 1963.
