MSU AgBioResearch and MSU Extension; report

Sec. 263a. (1) Not later than September 30 of each year, Michigan State University shall submit a report on MSU AgBioResearch and MSU Extension to the house and senate appropriations subcommittees on agriculture and on higher education, the house and senate standing committees on agriculture, the house and senate fiscal agencies, and the state budget director for the preceding academic fiscal year. (2) The report required under subsection (1) must include all of the following: (a) Total funds expended by MSU AgBioResearch and by MSU Extension identified by state, local, private, federal, and university fund sources. (b) A review of major programs within both MSU AgBioResearch and MSU Extension with specific reference to accomplishments, impacts, and a specific accounting of Project GREEEN and the Agricultural Climate Resiliency Program expenditures and the impact of those expenditures. The program review for MSU AgBioResearch and MSU Extension should include the following: (i) The number of agriculture and food-related firms collaborating with and using services of research and extension faculty and staff. (ii) The number of individuals utilizing MSU Extension's educational services. (iii) External funds generated in support of research and extension. (iv) Efforts to improve access to healthy foods for Michigan consumers.
