Superintendent of public instruction; powers and duties

Sec. 2. To these ends and purposes the superintendent of public instruction is authorized, directed and empowered: (a) To originate the documentary data prerequisite to the disbursement of all funds made available at any time by the federal government to the state of Michigan for said purposes in accordance with existing and usual procedures covering disbursements from the state treasury. (b) To adopt, carry out and administer a plan or plans for any such purposes not contrary to or inconsistent with the laws of this state. Such plan or plans so adopted shall be made statewide in application insofar as reasonably feasible, possible or permissible, and shall be so devised as to meet the approval of the federal government, or any of its agencies.
