Sec. 201. (1) An emergency 9-1-1 service system shall not be implemented in this state except as provided under this act. (2) One or more counties may create an emergency 9-1-1 service system under this act. (3) With the approval of the county board of commissioners in a county with a population of 1,650,000 or more, 4 or more cities may create an emergency 9-1-1 service district under this act. (4) Each service supplier in this state is required to provide each of its service users access to the 9-1-1 system. Each service supplier shall provide the committee with contact information to allow for notifications as required under section 714.
