Mich. Comp. Laws § 560.173

Sec. 173. When notification of recording of 1 copy of plat has been received by the director of the department of energy, labor, and economic growth, he or she shall: (a) Transcribe the certificate of recording on all other copies. (b) Retain 1 copy for his or her files. (c) Mail 1 copy of the plat to the county treasurer, 1 copy to the clerk of the municipality in which the plat is located, 1 copy to the county road commission or the city planning commission, and 1 copy to the proprietor if he has submitted an extra copy for certification and mailing.
