Mich. Comp. Laws § 600.4709

Sec. 4709. The forfeiture action and related proceedings provided for in this chapter shall be brought in the district court pursuant to that court's equity jurisdiction established under section 8303, except that in a local unit of government in which there is a municipal court, the circuit court shall have original jurisdiction over the forfeiture action and related proceedings provided for in this chapter.
