1. The departments of health and senior services and social services shall promulgate rules and regulations requiring the exchange of information, including regulatory violations, between the departments to ensure the protection of individuals who are served by health care providers regulated by either the department of health and senior services or the department of social services.
2. No rule or portion of a rule promulgated pursuant to the provisions of this section shall become effective unless it has been promulgated pursuant to chapter 536.
