The department of commerce and insurance shall create an advisory committee to be known as the "Health Insurance Advisory Committee". This committee shall be a voluntary committee comprised of representatives of the insurance industry, provider groups and the public. The committee shall consist of at least, but not limited to, one member representing each of the following areas: small group insurance, managed care, doctors of medicine, doctors of osteopathy, pharmacists, dentists and public members representing self-employed workers and the elderly. This committee shall meet to discuss and advise the department on issues relating to health care insurance.
