Any recorder of deeds of a county of the first class who is required by law to keep an office at the county seat and also at another place within his county is not required to make or keep at his office at the county seat any abstract or index of instruments or papers recorded or filed in the office outside of the county seat and no such abstract or index of instruments recorded at the county seat is required to be made or kept at the office outside of the county seat, any other provision of law to the contrary notwithstanding.
