Unincorporated town or village — change of name

When the plat of any unincorporated town or village shall be placed upon record in any county of this state, the circuit court of said county shall have power to change the name of such unincorporated town or village, upon a petition of a majority of the legal voters residing within the limits of such town or village; provided, notice of the proposed change of name shall be filed in the office of the secretary of state, as provided in section 71.030.
