Purposes of charter application; approved charter application not to serve as charter contract

Known as the Mississippi Charter Schools Act

The act spans §§ 37–37 (32 sections).

Laws, 2013, ch. 497, § 9, eff from and after July 1, 2013.

(1) The following are the purposes of a charter application: To present the proposed charter school’s academic and operational vision and plans;

(2) To demonstrate the applicant’s capacities to execute the proposed vision and plans; and

(3) To provide the authorizer a clear basis for assessing the applicant’s plans and capacities.

(4) An approved charter application may not serve as the school’s charter contract.
