Access for hunters with disabilities; use of mobility related device

Laws, 1997, ch. 481, § 1; Laws, 2010, ch. 413, § 1, eff from and after July 1, 2010.

(1) The department shall provide hunters with disabilities access to hunting areas in public wildlife management areas under its jurisdiction.

(2) The department shall allow the use of a mobility related device for an individual who is permanently physically disabled and meets one or more of the following criteria: Is paraplegic or hemiplegic;

(3) Is unable to ambulate and requires a wheelchair, walker, leg braces, prosthesis, canes or crutches for mobility.

(4) The commission shall promulgate rules and regulations for reasonable access and include a definition of “hunters with disabilities” as used in this section.
