Appointment of commissioners

When the chancery court has established a bridge district as hereinabove provided, it shall appoint five owners of real property residing within the district to act as commissioners. Each commissioner shall take the oath of office required by Section 268 of the Constitution of Mississippi, and shall also swear that he will not directly or indirectly be interested in any contract made by the board of commissioners and that he will well and truly assess all benefits resulting from said improvement.

No commissioner shall be eligible to discharge the duties of his office until the oath herein required has been taken.
