Rules and regulations [Repealed effective July 1, 2021]

Known as the Mississippi Professional Massage Therapy Act

The board may adopt rules:

Establishing reasonable standards concerning the sanitary, hygienic and healthful conditions of the licensed massage therapist and of premises and facilities used by massage therapists;

Relating to the methods and procedures used in the practice of massage;

Governing the examination and investigation of applicants for the licenses issued under this chapter and the issuance, renewal, suspension and revocation of the license;

Setting standards for certifying continuing education classes;

Requiring that massage therapists supply the board with the accurate, current address or addresses where they practice massage;

Establishing the educational, training and experience requirements for licensure by reciprocity;

Establishing requirements for issuance and retention of an inactive license and/or provisional permits.
