(1) For the purposes of this chapter, the following words shall have the following meanings, unless the context otherwise requires: “Department” shall mean the Department of Banking and Consumer Finance established in Section 81-1-59.

(2) “Commissioner” shall mean the Commissioner of Banking and Consumer Finance as provided for in Section 81-1-61.

(3) “Board” shall mean the State Board of Banking Review established in Section 81-3-12.

(4) Wherever the following words appear in Title 81 of the Mississippi Code of 1972, or in any other laws of the State of Mississippi, they shall be construed to have the following meanings: “Department of Bank Supervision” or “department,” when referring to the Department of Bank Supervision, shall be construed to mean the Department of Banking and Consumer Finance.

(5) “State Comptroller” or “comptroller,” when referring to the office of State Comptroller of Banks, shall be construed to mean the Commissioner of Banking and Consumer Finance.

(6) “State Banking Board,” “banking board” or “board,” when referring to the State Board of Banking Review or the State Banking Board, shall be construed to mean the State Board of Banking Review.
