Right-of-way while performing military duty

(1) The commanding officer of a unit of the organized militia parading or performing any military duty in a street or highway may require all persons on the street or highway to yield the right-of-way to troops. Motor vehicles traveling in military convoy shall be accorded the right-of-way on all streets and highways.

(2) The exercise of the right-of-way provided for in this section may not interfere with the carriage of the United States mail or with the progress of an ambulance or members of a police or fire department.

(3) A person who fails to yield the right-of-way as prescribed by this section is guilty of a misdemeanor.
