Authority to adopt rules

Known as the Montana Medical Legal Panel Act

The director, in consultation with the state bar of Montana and subject to approval of the supreme court, is authorized to adopt and publish rules of procedure necessary to implement and carry out the duties of the medical review panel. No rules may be adopted, however, which require a party to make a monetary payment as a condition to bringing a malpractice claim before the medical review panel.
