Mont. Code Ann. § 33-2-103

Admission for investment only

A foreign insurer may transact business in this state without certificate of authority for the purpose and to the extent only of investing its funds in Montana real estate or in securities secured thereby by complying with the applicable laws of this state other than this code. Such an insurer shall not be subject to any other provision of this code.
