Board adoption of protocols

The board, in consultation with the board of medical examiners and the board of pharmacy, shall by rule adopt written protocols for each class of topical medication listed in 37-11-106 (2) for which a prescription is required under state or federal law. Protocols must include a description of each topical medication and its actions, indications, and contraindications, as well as the proper procedure and technique for the application or administration of the medication.
