Mont. Code Ann. § 39-51-1126

Termination of election to make payments in lieu of contributions

Known as the Unemployment Insurance Law

(1) Any nonprofit organization, tribal unit, or governmental entity may terminate its election to make payments in lieu of contributions after 2 years from the effective date of an election by filing a written notice with the department not later than 30 days prior to the beginning of the tax year for which the termination is effective.

(2) If a nonprofit organization, tribal unit, or governmental entity is delinquent in making payments in lieu of contributions, the department may terminate the election to make payments in lieu of contributions as of the beginning of the next tax year, and the termination is effective for that and the next tax year.
