Mont. Code Ann. § 46-12-203

Time allowed to answer

If on the arraignment the defendant requires it, the defendant must be allowed a reasonable time, not less than 1 day, to answer or otherwise plead to the indictment, information, or complaint. The answer may include appropriate pretrial motions.
