Mont. Code Ann. § 7-3-1202

Nature of consolidated government

As a political subdivision of the state, such consolidated municipality shall have the status of a county, and for the purpose of representation in the legislature, as provided by the constitution and laws of this state, and for all other purposes, it shall replace and be the successor of the county and shall be attached to the same judicial district.
