Fees of officers and witnesses

Neither the officers serving subpoenas nor the witnesses subpoenaed to testify in relation to matters of public concern before the board of county commissioners are entitled to have their fees prepaid, but officers must serve the subpoenas and witnesses must attend without their fees being prepaid. The board must allow the witnesses reasonable compensation for their attendance, but in no case to exceed the amount for like services in courts.
