Mont. Code Ann. § 75-11-321

Criminal penalties

A person who knowingly misrepresents the date of discovery of a release, submits or causes to be submitted a fraudulent claim or document, or makes a false statement or representation in seeking or assisting a person to seek reimbursement under this part is subject to a fine not to exceed $10,000 for each violation or imprisonment not to exceed 6 months, or both. A person convicted of a second or subsequent violation of this section is subject to a fine not to exceed $20,000 for each violation or imprisonment not to exceed 1 year, or both.
