Mont. Code Ann. § 81-8-504

For the purpose of defraying the costs of purebred livestock shows and purebred livestock sales, the county commissioners may, subject to 15-10-420, levy a tax on the taxable value of all taxable property in the county. The taxes must be paid into the general fund of the county.
