The state board of higher education is responsible for appointment of presidents at institutions under the control of the board. Upon notification that the position of an institution president will become vacant, the state board of higher education may authorize a search committee to conduct a search for a new president. The state board of higher education may retain the services of a consultant, determined and selected by the search committee, to assist the search committee.
