N.H. Rev. Stat. Ann. § 100-A:22-a

Any officer or employee for whom membership in the retirement system first becomes optional under RSA 100-A:22 on or after July 1, 1989, shall be given by his employer within a reasonable time after the date upon which membership becomes optional written notice of his option to join the retirement system.
