N.H. Rev. Stat. Ann. § 135-C:24

Before any judicial hearing commences, the client or the person sought to be admitted shall be given written and oral notice, in a language he understands, of his right to be represented by legal counsel and to have legal counsel appointed for him if he is indigent.
