N.H. Rev. Stat. Ann. § 236:98

The annual license fee is $35 to be paid at the time the application is made and annually thereafter on April 1 in the event of renewal. If the application is not granted, the fee shall be returned to the applicant. All fees shall be deposited in the highway fund.
