N.H. Rev. Stat. Ann. § 266:24-a

Notwithstanding any other provision of this subdivision, the commissioner of safety shall have authority to waive the maximum lengths between axles of trucks provided for under this subdivision when the commissioner finds that such waiver will not adversely affect the safety of the users of the state's interstate, defense, non-interstate, and general highway system.
