N.H. Rev. Stat. Ann. § 303:3

At a legal meeting holden for the purpose, the proprietors may choose a clerk and treasurer and such other officers as they shall deem necessary, and may prescribe their powers and duties, which officers shall be sworn, and hold office until others are duly chosen and qualified in their stead.
