N.J. Stat. Ann. § 23:5-16

Taking eels in tidal waters with certain devices

Known as the Striped Bass Act

No person shall catch or take, or attempt to catch or take, eels from the tidal waters of this State by means or use of a dredge, rake, spear or other device attached to or drawn by a boat or vessel.
