N.J. Stat. Ann. § 45:5B-31.1

Chair or booth rental license, application, requirements; rules, regulations

Known as the Cosmetology and Hairstyling Act

The act spans §§ 45:5B-1 to 45:5B-9.2 (53 sections).

L.2023, c.231, s.5.

5. a. An individual applying for a chair or booth rental license shall:

(1) Make application to the board on forms as it may require; and

(2) Pay a fee as required by the board.

b. The board shall promulgate rules and regulations relating to the information to be submitted for a chair or booth rental license, including information regarding an applicant's compliance with State and federal tax laws, and the board shall issue a booth rental permit, to any person who holds a license, certificate of registration, or permit issued by the board, upon application and compliance with the following:

(1) submission of a copy of the written agreement required by section 4 of P.L.2023, c.231 (C.45:5B-11.1);

(2) inspection of the premises prior to the issuance of a chair or booth rental license;

(3) payment of the booth rental permit fee and the booth rental inspection fee set forth by the board; and

(4) receipt of an inspection report from the board indicating approval of the booth.

c. A booth rental permit shall not be transferable except that when the shop changes location, a booth rental permit may be transferred by filing a new booth rental agreement and receipt of an inspection report from the board indicating approval of the booth.
