§ 1-1-30 NMSA 1978

Peace officer

Known as the Election Code

As used in the Election Code, "peace officer" means any full-time salaried or certified part-time salaried officer of a police or sheriff's department that is part of or administered by the state or any political subdivision of the state who by virtue of office or public employment is vested by law with the duty to maintain the public peace.
