Out of the proceeds of the sale the bailee may pay all just claims against the property sold, including the bailee’s charges for storage. If there be any surplus after all just claims are satisfied, the bailee shall pay the same to the bailor, if the bailor’s address be known; if not, then the bailee shall deposit the same with the county treasurer of the county wherein the sale was made, who shall hold the same for 1 year for the benefit of the owner, and if no owner appear to claim the surplus it shall be paid over to the State Treasurer for the benefit of the State Permanent School Fund.
