NRS 179.421

“Electronic communication” defined

Known as the Uniform Criminal Extradition Act

The act spans §§ 179–179 (161 sections).

“Electronic communication” means a transfer of signs, signals, writings, images, sounds, data or intelligence of any nature transferred in whole or in part by a wire, radio, electromagnetic, photoelectric or photo-optical system. The term does not include:

1. A wire or oral communication.

2. A communication made through a tone-only paging device.

3. A communication from a tracking device.

4. Electronic funds transfer information stored by a financial institution in a communication system used for the electronic storage and transfer of funds.

5. The incoming or outgoing electronic or other impulses that identify the originating number of an instrument or device from which or to which a wire or electronic communication was transmitted.
