1. The board of county highway commissioners shall fix the salary of the county road supervisor.
2. The board of county highway commissioners may allow the actual traveling expenses of the county road supervisor, and may provide a means of conveyance for the county road supervisor when traveling in the actual performance of his or her duties.
3. The salary and expenses shall be paid from the county treasury in the manner provided for payment of county officers.
