1. Except as otherwise provided in subsection 2 and NRS 482.2665, the Director shall utilize the facility for the production of license plates which is located at the Department of Corrections to produce all license plates required by the Department of Motor Vehicles.
2. The Director may contract with a vendor for the production of license plates which require technological or mechanical processes which are not available at the facility.
