§ 16.01. Severability. Effect of unconstitutionality in part. If any\nclause, sentence, paragraph, subdivision, section or part of this title\nshall be adjudged by any court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid,\nsuch judgment shall not affect, impair or invalidate the remainder\nthereof, but shall be confined in its operation to the clause, sentence,\nparagraph, subdivision, section or part thereof directly involved in the\ncontroversy in which such judgment shall have been rendered.\n
