N.Y. County Law § 206-a

§ 206-a. Business in county offices on holidays and Saturdays. 1.\nNotwithstanding the provisions of any general or special law, holidays\nand Saturdays shall be considered as Sunday for all purposes relating to\nthe transaction of business in county offices in every county of the\nstate, except in a county wholly contained within a city. On all other\ndays, except Sundays, such offices shall be kept open for the\ntransaction of business. For the purposes of this section, the term\n"county offices" shall mean all offices, the officers or employees of\nwhich are paid in whole or in part from county funds.\n 2. Whenever the last day on which any paper shall be filed or act done\nor performed in any such office expires on Saturday, Sunday, public\nholiday or a day when such office is closed for the transaction of\nbusiness, the time therefor is hereby extended to and including the next\nbusiness day such office is open for the transaction of business.\n 3. Notwithstanding the foregoing provisions of this section, the motor\nvehicle section of a county clerk's office may, by resolution of the\nboard of supervisors, be kept open on Saturdays during the month of\nJanuary.\n
