N.Y. Economic Development Law § 181-c

* § 181-c. Legislative intent. The legislature recognizes the\nimportance of the sport of golf as an economic engine in New York. As\nthe sport of golf continues to become more popular, golf vacation\nexperiences will grow commensurately as tourist destinations. A recent\nstudy by the National Golf Foundation found that in neighboring\nPennsylvania, the golf industry generates 1.1 billion dollars in direct\neconomic benefit and 2.3 billion dollars in direct and indirect\nbenefits, making it one of the largest industries in Pennsylvania. Golf\nenthusiasts typically enjoy flexible incomes and spend at above average\nlevels on golf vacations. New York state must act to capitalize on this\nvisitor spending. As home to many premiere golf courses, as well as\naffordable courses, New York is in an excellent position to attract\ntravelers seeking a unique golf experience. The state must take on the\nresponsibility of making New York an attractive and user-friendly\ndestination for all travelers seeking a golf experience.\n * NB There are 2 § 181-c's\n
