Election by certain villages, school districts, special districts and public agencies located in two or more counties

§ 19. Election by certain villages, school districts, special\ndistricts and public agencies located in two or more counties. The\nadministration of this chapter in a village, school district or special\ndistrict incorporated or established on or after the effective date of\nthis act and comprising territory in two or more counties, or in a\npublic agency established on or after the effective date of this\namendment and maintained jointly by two or more counties or two or more\nmunicipal corporations or other civil divisions, including school\ndistricts, situated in different counties, shall be under the\njurisdiction of the civil service commission or personnel officer having\njurisdiction over the classified service of one of such counties\nselected by action of the governing board or body of such village,\nschool district or special district, or the appointing authority of such\npublic agency. In the event that such board or body of such a newly\nincorporated village or newly established school district or special\ndistrict or the appointing authority of such newly established public\nagency fails to make such selection within ninety days after the\neffective date of such incorporation or establishment, such village,\nschool district, special district or public agency shall be subject to\nthe jurisdiction of the civil service commission or personnel officer\nhaving jurisdiction over the classified service of the county in which\nthe greater or greatest territorial area of such village, school\ndistrict, special district or public agency is located.\n
